This Add-In requires a Windows Home Server. To make the most out of LightsOut, additional requirements for the server should be met.
Users, who set up their Windows Home Server with media prior to Power Pack 1 (PP1) have to disable the process sbscrexe.exe (SB Core Service). this process has the disadvantage to wake up Windows Home Server every 30 minutes. Lights-Out detects and notifies the user when a problematic version is detected. Then, and only then, you have to disable this service.
Verify that you have the latest drivers for your chip set, network and graphics card.
Set your graphics card to full acceleration. It may be necessary to connect a keyboard and a monitor to your Windows Home Server. Start->Control Panel->Display, Advanced
Next you should enable hibernation in power options, Start->Control Panel->Power Options:
The power schema should be set like this, System standby and hibernates should be set to Never.
Then take a look at your network card settings. To enable wake on lan from standby use these settings. Start->Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Computer Management, Device Manager:
Some network cards support additional options to wake up from shutdown.
